Let us take you on one of our Classic African Safaris. Registered Professional Hunter and Outfitter Dr. Dirk Schmidt and his team of specialized guides will be your hosts during your African getaway.

Our well equipped camps and selected hunting concessions are situated throughout South Africa - from the wind swept Eastern Cape and Griqua Land, the legendary Bushveld, to the lush hills and forests of Kwa Zulu Natal. This enables us to offer a wide variety of game species available in South Africa and excellent trophy selection.

The hunter will be accompanied at all times by a qualified and licensed professional hunter. Well-trained camp staff, including trackers, skinners, cooks and general camp assistants are always at hand. We endeavor to cater to all our clients’ personal needs to ensure a memorable African experience. Languages spoken are English, German and Afrikaans. All trophies are prepared by skinners under careful supervision. The mounting of trophies can be arranged by professional taxidermists who, with expert craftsmanship will rekindle your African memories in your trophy den.

Rifles and ammunition can be made available at a minimal fee, for travelers who wish to hunt at short notice, during a business or holiday trip (caliber’s available include .270 WM, .300 H&H Mag, .375 H&H Mag, 416 Rigby, 12 Bore shotgun).

Father & Son Hunts

This hunt is aimed at the father who has years of experience and wants to share this experience with his son. It allows the father to show how to identify and stalk game, how to preserve the environment and how hunting should be done. The Professional Hunter will accompany the father and son group and offer advice on African conditions.

It is a great opportunity to pass on experiences and bond in a way that can be done only when people hunt together.

HUNTING SEASON
We conduct hunting and photographic safaris throughout the year, however recommend the months of April to October when the days are mild to warm, and the evenings and mornings are cool to cold. Each hunt and photographic safaris is carefully planned to suit the personal requirements of the hunter or photographer.

RIFLES & AMMUNITION

Permits are available on arrival in Johannesburg International Airport, taking the Red Route declaring your firearm, complete the formalities and receive your temporary Import permit.

We recommend each hunter brings a scope-sighted rifle he or she is most comfortable with.

A very popular all-round caliber is the 30.06 or 7mm Remington. The minimum caliber being .243. All rifles are freely imported into South Africa on a temporary permit valid for the duration of the hunt. With respect to ammunition it is recommended that a well-constructed soft nosed bullet is used. For dangerous game such as buffalo and rhino the minimum caliber is a .375 H+H Mag. With respect to ammunition it is recommended that a well-constructed soft nose bullet be used. No automatic or semi-automatic rifles are allowed.

ESSENTIALS
As the weather from end of March to September can be rather cold, with pleasant midday temperatures we suggest you bring gloves, woolen hats, windbreakers, thick socks and comfortable boots. Binoculars, sunglasses, camera, sunscreen and personal medication should not be forgotten.
